The Church is actively working in the local community to be a witness to those around them in the form of service.
To this end the Community Project comes under the umbrella of the Lidget Green Community Development Initiative which promotes a number of community programmes for example: The Lidget Green Learning Centre – this takes the form of a supplementary school which operates on Saturday mornings between 10.00 – 12 noon, helping young people to develop ICT skills and help with their homework etc.
The Project aims to help each person strive to reach his or her full potential educationally.
Linked to this project is the Lidget Green Chill Out Zone, this is a safe base for children and young people to come and have time out from the busy hustle and bustle, to come and share with their peers.
On occasion facilitators come and lead particular topics that are focused on young people; also they arrange recreational activities with the young people to engage with.
